The long business relationship between HBO and hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons has been renewed with the media giant recently announcing its plans to coordinate new projects with Simmon’s company, All Def Digital. This includes a weekly sketch show with comedy troupe Broken Lizard, a special led by Oscar-nominated director Steve McQueen titled “Codes of Conduct,” and a possible 25th anniversary for the program that initially started it all off—Def Comedy Jam. Hopefully, a Def Poetry Jam revival will be a key part of this lucrative renewal as well.
