The President took a big stride in social media this week becoming the first to create a personal Twitter account the other day, at the same time breaking a Guinness Book of Records on Monday for “fastest time to reach 1 million followers on Twitter.” His account @Potus reached 1 million followers in less than 5 hours, beating previous record-holder Robert Downey Jr. who took 24 hours to reach the same feat. The Potus account will be left in place for the winner of the presidential election next year to take over. We’ll see how long it takes President Obama to overtake the reigning champ of Twitter Katy Perry who sits comfortably at the top with 70 million.
