Capitalizing on the resurgence of pizza in the hearts and stomachs of the millennial generation, Michigan-based giant Domino’s will start a new program allowing its customers to order pizza via Twitter. In fact, an order can even be placed with a simple emoji. Starting May 20th, the new Tweet to order program will showcase Domino’s as the first to utilize Twitter as a permanent avenue of placing orders for food. With 50% of its orders being placed online and already showing a propensity for change (dropping the pizza in its name in recent years), many within the industry see this as a marked moment of foresight. As said by CEO Patrick Doyle: “It’s the epitome of convenience. We’ve got this down to a five-second exchange.”
