I don’t remember the last time there was a Streetwear event like this. Well, outside of a tradeshow. We were all in the same room tonight; the entirety of us, having worked together and against each other for a decade now. We were the underdogs, we lived outside the box. Now we run the show – we call the shots – we got kids and companies and nice cars and can look across the room at each other, give each other respect, and talk about normal-people stuff that has nothing to do with t-shirts and sneakers, and it all happened tonight because of our brothers and sisters at Crooks & Castles.
Tonight, the Crooks unveiled their collaborative MONOPOLY game board (pretty smart, right?) with a tournament at their Fairfax shop. And you know how much respect these guys have garnered because of the turnout. It was like the Streetwear hall of fame – that’s Javs (Supreme), Nick (Diamond), Russ (SSUR), and Keith (HUF) all in one frame.
The Brothers Cooperman: Taav and Tal of CRSL:
Power. That’s numero uno, Joy Claire, everyone. And the kingpin, Dennis Calvero of Crooks & Castles:
The once and future kings: Joel Madden and Casey Veggies (Peas & Carrots):
These guys are taking our website to that next level: Van Styles and Rob Heppler:
Rob, Pete, Buscemi, the Melch, and Arsen (Hall of Fame):
Bad girls club:
Dom Kennedy, comedian Jo Koy… I saw Russell Simmons walking around?
The Crooks edition MONOPOLY board releases this Friday at C&C’s Hawaii and Fairfax flagships, as well as their online store.
