Happy New Year, everyone. I hope you all are as ready for 2015 as I am. Something about not knowing what the year has in store is just simply exciting. So I figured I would kick things off with new Test Shot segment. This time, I’m featuring Larissa Macedo from New York. While on a trip out there, we had the opportunity to link up at my suite in SoHo for a shoot. I believe we tried to pair our schedules together on a prior trip but it wasn’t able to work out. Luckily for us, this time around it was able to happen. I found myself shooting with someone who seemed to love life. Expressing this through her dancing or modeling – it was definitely a delight to create something with someone who has a good outlook. While sometimes not all the details of one’s personality translates through a photo, I will say from a photographic perspective, it makes capturing pictures that much more amazing when you get inspired. Okay, Larissa, let’s kick off 2015 with my first Test Shot of the year right. How old are you?

Brazilian and Italian.

Paraiba, Brazil.
Where do you currently reside?
NYC.
Good choice. Give us some of your likes in life.
People who live in their own truth, the maryest of janes, yoga, dancing, chocolate, my skateboard, coconut water, naps, Prince Humphrey (the puppy in my life), music, art, and things that give me the feels.
Sounds like positive vibes all around. What about your dislikes?
Broccoli, people who don’t say thank you when you hold the door open, laundry, this generation, the color purple, cold weather, NYC landlords, Taylor Swift, a boy named Larry who pantsed me in the 4th grade.
Fuck Larry. What do you want to be when you grow up?
Wise and truly happy.
Name some of your influences.
My mother and sister.
Do you have a favorite type of food?
Ahhhh, how can you do this to me! [Laughs] Torn between sushi, pizza, and an authentic Brazilian meal.
Do you have a favorite place you have traveled to?
Good ole California has my heart for now!
Name a place you want to visit before you die.
Lebanon, Japan, Bali, Greece.
Definitely some good spots you listed there. What is your current form of employment?
Model and dancer for Zhantra Entertainment.
Do you have a favorite type of music at the moment?
THE WEEKND!!!!!!!!!!! And anything that makes me shake my booty from trap to techno to your latest ratchet version of homemade beats.
You definitely sound like you know how to have fun. What is it that you enjoy about modeling?
Modeling gives me an opportunity to express myself without words – to create and be anyone I want to be in that exact moment; it’s freedom and the possibilities are endless when you pair it with a great photographer. It’s my favorite kind of art, body language never lies.
That’s what’s up. What keeps you modeling?
My passion and need to create… I’d also like to show it off to the other gals in my retirement home when I’m no longer wrinkle free and we are all reminiscing on the best years of our lives.
That would be amazing! Lastly, why New York over any other city?
There’s just something about the this crazy beautiful city like a thick air that lingers that makes you feel like you can truly do anything you set your mind to… And the pizza, of course, the pizza.
