Eyeone, member of the Seeking Heaven and Second To None graffiti crews, is an artist and graphic designer living in Los Angeles. His large-scale, subversive pieces take on themes of resistance and urban injustices, and his signature Zapatista character can be seen watching over the busy streets of East Los Angeles (that big wall across from Echo Park Lake), as well as hanging in prestigious museums and galleries around the city. We caught up with the Getty Black Book co-curator for a studio visit and rapped out about art, punk rock, cops and graffiti. Check out some images from inside his studio (where the tame part of his creative process happens), and stay tuned for our full interview with the acclaimed LA artist.
