The story of professional skater Lennie Kirk has been immortalized within skateboarding lore—from his head injury to his Bible-thumping revelations to a 13-year jail sentence. And photographer Dennis McGrath captured the legacy in its entirety through his book, Heaven. “Well, the fact that Lennie is a skateboarder is just a part of it really. It’s significant that he was a pro skateboarder in many ways, but this book is more about the human condition,” says McGrath in our past interview. Now, the photographer invites you to watch a slideshow with imagery, letters, and ephemera from the book alongside him and old friends of Kirk. The event is set to go down this Saturday, February 13, 7:30 PM at FAMILY bookstore (436 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles).
