Most of my free time in New York so far has been used to visit the vast amount, and often free galleries and museums the city has to offer. I love art of all forms, so I try to go out to as many opening as possible. I most recently visited the Gagosian Gallery currently featuring the work of a fellow San Francisco native Richard Serra. Known for his large-scale sculptures, Serra’s latest works consist of pieces made of weatherproof steel and large curved plates.
Both exhibitions showing have been extended, and I’d recommend seeing them. They can be seen at Gagosian gallery in Chelsea located at 522 West 24th Street through February 8th, 2014 as well as 555 West 21st Street location through March 15th, 2014.
