On Thursday, February 4, The Hundreds is taking a trip back in time, back to a time when streetwear was in transition. The early-2000s found the industry moving from analog to digital, from the streets to the internet. The Hundreds was there at the forefront, innovating with its Blog and showing people around the world what LA’s streetwear culture was before social media became the universal language of the masses.
It was an era of trial and error, with brands trying to find their footing in a new and unexplored world. Designers created without fear, knowing they weren’t really being watched. The freedom in this era of streetwear is inspiring now when looking back 20 years later, where the rules have been written.
The Hundreds graphics for Spring 2021 focus heavily on the idea of rebirth and transition, using subversive art to let go of our fears, achieve ego death, come together, and fight back. The collection was assembled at the height of a pandemic and global unrest and its graphics reflect that. We know you wear your heart on your sleeve just like we do, so we don’t take those sleeves (or the rest of the shirt) lightly. We referenced everything from our favorite candy back then to Blood In Blood Out, from Lord of the Flies to the Royal Jesters.
We’re reaching back to the early-2000s and reviving the camos and shadow plaids that ruled the day and working them into modern pieces that feel timeless. Spring 2021 headwear offerings feel vintage and sporty, meant to keep your head covered and all other heads turning. The Hundreds Spring collection harkens back to a time of free-thinking, with fearless, thoughtful, clever designs on elevated versions of common goods.
The first delivery of The Hundreds Spring 2021 collection arrives on The Hundreds App and Online Shop on Thursday, February 4 at Midnight EST, as well as The Hundreds Los Angeles and select stockists worldwide.
