It’s been a while since Jordan brand has dropped a Retro that I wanted to go out and actually pick up. With the recent Jordan 9 Statue of last month being a total mistake in my opinion, the Anthracite colorway is a great way to redeem the Jordan 9 sneaker. Don’t get me wrong, the Jordan 9 Statue has a great theme, but a terrible execution. With the Anthracite colorway being very reminiscent of the beloved Oregon player exclusive from years back, this is sure to be a hit with sneakerheads worldwide. The buttery suede nubuck upper is something different from the traditional leather uppers that we’ve seen used mostly on the Jordan 9. The subtle hue of Anthracite draped across this sneaker really brings out the brilliant design mechanics, showing how a sneaker will look adorned in such a dark color. For the most part, the color Anthracite hides the design of a sneaker. For some reason, when used on the Jordan 9, it bring out the life of this shoe. This is one of my top Jordan releases of the year thus far. I haven’t seen much more that’s coming out besides OG colorways that can beat this. The Jordan 9 Retro Anthracite drops Saturday, September 5 at your local Jordan retailer.
