This past weekend, 4,634 bands (slight exaggeration) from around the world gathered at a handful of Echo Park venues with the sole intention of exploding our tiny, one-track minds and showing us just how much we’ve been missing while listening to King Krule on repeat (we’re big fans of the red headed “Easy Easy” singer, it’s just that the world is a big place, and it’s important to diversify your Spotify playlist to include music from countries you’ve never traveled to). Highlights of the three day fest include Brooklyn-based rockers The Men, Iceage from Denmark, a dreamy performance by the sun-soaked babes of Bleached, a set from our girl Iza out of Poland, and an intimate church serenade by the always entrancing Rhye. (Also walking from venue to venue with beer in hand was a definite bonus.) Check out our photos from Filter Magazine’s Culture Collide, featuring the aforementioned acts plus a whole slew of ear catching action.
Jack.
