Being able to do what you love is a beautiful thing.
Now to be able to share that with friends is even better. So when it came time to pick someone to do a collab with for V/SUAL Fall ’14, I immediately knew I wanted it to be with Asa Akira. She and I have been friends for a long time now and I cherish the fact that I’m able to have a friend like her. A little known fact is that she was one of the initial people who started pushing me to follow photography beyond my current job at the time – which led me to where I am today. Aiding in some of my earlier projects, I knew that when I had the right opportunity to work with her on something that I could give back, I would. So we found ourselves linking up months back to shoot her capsule. Rather than stressing the project, we just wanted to have fun and create something we both could be proud of. And I think we did just that. After renting out a location in the west end of the valley for a day, we ended up with some awesome work. It was tough deciding which images to use but the end results worked out great.
