A few backs back I asked my good friend Aaron De La Cruz to fly down from San Francisco to bless our media room with some much needed color. I first met Aaron back in 2008, during my time at Hypebeast. Back then, his most recognized body of work was customized sneakers, etched by hand with a Dremel power tool, quickly catching the attention of footwear aficionados, such as DJ Clark Kent.

Long story short, he gifted us at HB with some pairs and after learning he was based in the Bay Area, I hit him up. Eventually we became homies and shared an office space that was then considered Hypebeast West, although a lack of man power and heavy commuting made that a short-lived venture.

Since then Aaron has achieved great success through gallery openings and large scale murals. It was only natural for him to be the first featured artist in my office space. Learn a bit more about Aaron’s thought process and visual artwork below.
