Ever since Bobby obtained his DeLorean DMC-12, I’ve been hounding him to do a shoot of his car. If you’ve had the pleasure of working with the man, you will know that it is hard to tie this guy down for a solid minute unless you’re a hot girl. And me being the weird skinny Vietnamese car geek that I am, getting Bobby to take a couple hours out of his busy schedule for a shoot was pretty much going to be impossible. So after the umpteenth time of getting nowhere, I decided to seek out help and go to the main source itself. I asked Bobby if he could talk to Cameron over at DeLorean Motor Company to see if he could help us out. And sure enough, Cameron was more than happy to deliver something amazing for us.
Initially, I had just expected to shoot a normal DMC-12, but when I found out that I would be shooting an actual time machine vehicle, my insides (car weenie) got all tingly. To say that I was excited to be shooting this car would be an understatement. Shooting a normal DMC-12 is already rare, but to shoot the time machine car is like shooting a unicorn in the car community. After pinching myself a couple times to make sure it wasn’t all a dream, I unloaded my gear and got straight to business. This was definitely one of the coolest shoots I’ve ever done and I have to thank Cameron over at DeLorean Motor Company, and lastly Bobby for setting it up. (This doesn’t mean you’re off the hook!)
