Things Organized Neatly Part 2 :: Kaufmann Mercantile EDC

By Chris Danforth

Kaufmann Mercantile definitely wants us to get the hell out of the house and go build a birdhouse or something. This every-day-carry “EDC” kit is pretty cool though, and while you can cop the standard version from their site, there are dozens of mini-gadgets that you can customize with, including pocket knives, whistles, flashlights, even a tiny flask. The stock edition comes with a pry bar, screwdriver keys, precision tweezers and a capsule lighter, although everyone that has seen this kit has been like “Yo, cool peanut lighter”, which honestly is a better name. The quality is outstanding with each of these items; the pry bar appears to be milspec and reads “U.S. GOVT”, while the lighter is waterproof and airtight. In terms of what I thought I needed on the daily, I tagged on the pry bar and lighter with my key, while the EDC clips nicely into my jacket.
