On March 25, The Hundreds invites you to escape with us, to an island unlike any other, as we join our friend Max to explore Where The Wild Things Are. A landmark collaboration with one of the most beloved children’s stories of all time, this collection celebrates the incredible world Maurice Sendak created almost 60 years ago.
Initially panned by critics and banned by libraries after being deemed too dark for children, it was kids who made Sendak’s captivating story a smash hit, refusing to be denied this wondrous tale. The 388-word book, written and illustrated by Sendak, went on to sell tens of millions of copies and rank as the fourth-most checked-out book ever at the New York Public Library.
Then, in 2009, those short 388 words were completely transformed into an immersive and enchanting world by director Spike Jonze, with help from Sendak himself. The feature film adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are captured the hearts and minds of both older fans of the children’s book and new generations finding the story for the first time.
The Hundreds X Where The Wild Things Are collection features Maurice Sendak’s original art from the 1963 picture book, as well as characters and stills from the 2009 major motion picture. Pieces include Graphic T-shirts, Long Sleeves, Crewneck Sweatshirts, Pullover Hoodies, and a line of accessories including Pins, Stickers, Hats, and a Bookmark.
The entire The Hundreds X Where The Wild Things Are collection will be available at Midnight EST on Thursday, March 25 on The Hundreds App and Online Shop, as well as our flagship store at 501 N Fairfax in Los Angeles.
