TEST SHOT :: JESSICA

A couple of weeks ago I was in Austin, TX with The Hundreds crew for SXSW. Aside from checking out the town and some great live music, I was also interested in seeing the women, in front of my lens, that is. Now I don’t know anyone in Austin, but I did have wi-fi on my plane ride, so through my social media accounts I was able to blast out the news that I would be in Texas for a few days, and that anyone who wanted to shoot should e-mail me. Fortunately for me, I got a pretty good response, one of which was from Jessica. She expressed her eagerness to model for me, and I was already setting up my first shoot before I even landed.

After getting settled in and checking out the house we were staying at, which would serve as my shoot location over the next few days, I had the opportunity to hang out with Jessica the day before we were scheduled to work together, just to get to know her a little bit. I was immediately drawn to her look, especially her eyes. We met up at the Fader Fort and strolled around town, just talking about life and work and what not. Meanwhile, she got stopped about four times by passersby complimenting her hair and tattoos, and asking to snap a photo with her. I had a good feeling about the upcoming shoot. The next day she showed up at the house, and we picked out an outfit that I felt went well with the lighting, setting, and her whole vibe. She was very easy to shoot.
