STAFF PICKS :: Our Favorite Takeout Spots in LA

STAFF PICKS :: Our Favorite Takeout Spots in LA

Welcome to our first installment of STAFF PICKS!

Every Friday, we’re grilling The Hundreds team to find out their favorites in a wide range of categories. That way, when you can’t figure out what to watch, eat, or listen to, you have a quick way to figure it out.

As always, clap back on social if you’re not feeling our suggestions.

This week, we asked everyone their favorite spots to get takeout or delivery from in Los Angeles. These are all great options if you don’t want to cook this weekend.

Bobby Hundreds, co-founder:

El Torito, Chipotle, and Fatburger

Daniel Awad, customer service:

Brick and Flour has the FIRE carne asada fries, and Casita del Campo is personally my favorite Mexican restaurant, the best margaritas in the city.

Carlos Avalos, sales:

The carne asada fries or California burrito from Benito’s, the Mar y Tierra plate from Mario’s Peruvian, and the Galbi Short Ribs combo with a soon tofu soup from BCD Tofu House.

Sandy Mosqueda, digital marketing:

Jade Siam: Green Curry. I could eat that Green Curry on a 114-degree day.
Cha Cha Chicken: Anything on the menu is good but my go-to is the Mole Poblano and Spicy Black Pepper Shrimp. Right next to Santa Monica, plan a day trip to the beach and stop by Cha Cha for lunch or dinner. (-:
Nabeeya: Super clutch Sushi Bar because it’s right by my place. It’s too bad they’re not open on the weekends and close at 3 PM during the week so it’s exclusively a lunch spot, but I love their Crunchy Roll and Spicy Seafood Ramen.
Elizabeth’s Bakery in South Gate: I grew up going to this bakery since I was a kid. It used to be a super small bakery but they’ve expanded the space and now you can even buy lottery tickets in there. You love to see it. They have the softest bolio I’ve ever had EVER. It’s so good and always tastes freshly made.

Baeth, lifestyle photographer:

Salsa and Beer is an insane Mexican restaurant in the valley.

Allison Gretchko, e-comm photographer:

Cafe Tropical: Media Noche (Cuban Sando with Sweet Bread), Cuban Mocha, and Pastelitos. This is on my corner and the reason I have survived on only three trips to the grocery store since March.
A Beautiful Life: Jerk Mac n Cheese
Bowery Bungalow: Fried Cauliflower, Babagaunoush, Spicy Potato, Spicy Baby Back Ribs (literally the whole menu tbh)

David Hernandez, graphic designer:

Jichan’s Onigiri-ya: Shibazuke, Kara-age, and Crispy Salmon Onigiris
Tokyo Fried Chicken Co.: Chicken Dinner Set for 2 with Mac & Cheese and Brussel Sprouts
The Bombay Frankie Company: Aloo Gobhi and Fish Frankies

Charlie Rosenthal, director of digital:

Falafel from Mizlala, Godmother sandwich from Bay Cities, and Rendang memak from Wallflower.

David Rivera, Head of Special Projects:

Broken Mouth Hawaiian: Garlic Butter Shrimp with Purple Rice and Potato-Mac Salad is the closest thing to being in Hawaii for me.
Noshi Sushi: Spicy Tuna Roll, Plum Roll and Salmon Tempura Roll. A very slept on sushi spot in the heart of Ktown, I miss eating there but still good for take out.
Sabores Oaxaquenos: Tlayuda Mixta (Carne Asade, Chorizo and Chicken), Walnut Horchata, and the Gelatina for dessert. This made me feel like my Tia cooked my meal, nothing better than that.
Belizean Paradise: Coconut white rice, red kidney beans, potato salad, garden salad, fried plantain and stew chicken. A good friend of mine put me onto this place, I’m now a regular here.

Brice Waller, marketing coordinator:

Saltedo de Camarones from Mario’s Peruvian, Pancakes and Eggs from Jon & Vinny’s, and a Flying Dutchman (Add Raw Onion and Animal Style Fries) from In-N-Out.

Chad Greenberg, communications manager:

Kalua Pork Royale from Rutt’s Hawaiin BBQ, Pad Ekkamai with shrimp from Ekkamai Thai Food, and a Supreme Burrito with Carne Asada from Pepe’s Tacos.
