There’s been rumors circulating for a few years about a potential collaboration between Jordan Brand and Nike SB being in the works, but nothing concrete really leaked until this pair came out of nowhere. Its definitely one of the most anticipated and talked about sneakers to drop since news broke out a couple of weeks back. The Air Jordan 1 is my favorite of all-time and Nike SB has been a favorite since its inception in 2002, so naturally I’m hyped on this shoe finally coming to fruition.
I would have liked to see a different colorway, such as the classic white/red/black pair that OG skaters used to rock back in the ’80s, but these will have to do. I like how they kept the shoe true to its core with the high cut, non-padded tongue and lack of zoom air unit. The woven tongue and collar underlay is very reminiscent of the same fabric used on the Air Jordan 13. The clear soles seem to have what looks like a carbon fiber pattern underneath along with Craig Stecyk’s signature tribal font written across the insole, back panel and inner collar.
These are definitely going to be one of the most sought after Nike SB’s this year. Look for them in stores on March 15 for $140 USD.
