This week, The Hundreds is releasing a collaboration with Crenshaw Skate Club, the independently owned brand founded by skate and streetwear prodigy Tobey McIntosh.

Crenshaw Skate Club is only a few years old, but it has been Tobey’s focus for about a quarter of his life. The brand started as a club to get kids in the Crenshaw District skating together and doing something positive. The idea came to Tobey when he realized there weren’t many kids that looked like him and his friends in their favorite skate videos and magazines. A brand was born.

After making some quick T-shirts for his friends to wear while they skated, local shops took notice and asked if they could stock the young entrepreneur’s brand on their shelves. Soon, Crenshaw Skate Club was stocked in Supreme, Union, and many other shops around the country. Collabs with Lacoste, Carrots, BornXRaised, and more, as well as community-building projects with Jordan, came next.

Now, a collaboration with The Hundreds brings things full circle for Crenshaw Skate Club, as Ben Hundreds first found out about the brand from a 14-year-old Tobey. The pair were eating in the same sushi spot and a young McIntosh noticed Ben’s Undefeated Air Maxes from across the dining room, so he went over and told the The Hundreds co-founder about his brand and offered some stickers. Ben has been mentoring the young founder ever since.

This collaboration comes just before Tobey embarks on a new journey, leaving LA for his freshman year at Stanford next month, marking a new chapter for him and the Crenshaw Skate Club brand. The collection includes graphic T-Shirts and Pullover Hoodies, as well as a SnapBack Hat, all featuring new art by Bobby Hundreds.
