Kanye Addresses Racism & the Charleston Tragedy in a Recent Freestyle

By The Hundreds Staff

Closing out the 20th birthday bash of Atlanta staple Hot 107.9 with his classic “Mercy” collab with 2 Chainz, rap impresario Kanye West shocked many in the crowd with a impromptu freestyle highlighting his dissatisfaction with recent events in America. Touching on the tragic terrorist attack that claimed the lives of nine people at Emanuel AME last week, he rapped the following lines showing the effect of the attack in Charleston on his heart:

“See, that’s the magic of racism, it works on itself/ We hate each other, screw each other, kill each other when we can’t kill nobody else/ See, that’s the magic of lack of resources, it works on itself/ 500 n****s getting pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-popped, and North Carolina didn’t help.”
