From Dr. Dre to Tha Dogg Pound, the compilation is an hour and nine minutes of pure, ’90s West Coast goodness. Mike B says, “I figured for this mix I’d use all my favorite “slept on” Death Row joints. Deep album cuts, Soundtrack jams, rare B-sides and remixes. “A lot of ideas came to mind when The Hundreds approached me about doing this mixtape. I had used many of my Death Row favorites and classics for Drive By Bangers pt 1 and 2… But what guided me where two things specifically:
1. I barely used any 2Pac because, the guidelines I made for those mixes were that it was all MCs from LA. So that gave my choice of 2Pac tracks.
2. The Lady Of Rage “Some Shit” was originally on Drive By Bangers. The song is her killing it for 4 minutes over a sick DJ Premier beat but has no hook or breaks… I ended up cutting it for time and forgetting to put it on the second one.
