Sports and street-inspired athletic brand Hall of Fame presents their first commercial ever – “BE REMEMBERED,” directed by multimedia artist Van Alpert. The epic video, which you can watch below, encapsulates the brand’s unconventional storytelling angle, wide international reach, and its street culture/sports relevance. Featuring a haunting soundtrack by Manchester electronic producer Andy Stott, “BE REMEMBERED” was shot on location in USA, France, Colombia, Belgium, and Turkey, and depicts a range of sports, from bmx, skate, basketball, and soccer, to boxing.
With this first commercial roll out, Hall Of Fame truly shows us how they’re anticipating the new year – and it hits hard. Spot LA native professional boxer Zachary Wohlman training with legends Freddie Roach and Eric Brown (we wrote about Wohlman in HOF’s Summer ’14 lookbook, shot by long-time HOF collaborator Akira Ruiz here), the Deli Status crew in Venice, a shot of a lone wolf, plenty of blood, and more. HOF’s choice of self-motivated storied subjects in the commercial reveals the thought and care that the brand puts into their creations, down to the very last detail.
Even their choice of director in Van Alpert continues the Hall of Fame story – Alpert himself began his craft at the young age of 15, leaving his home to travel the world and make films. After receiving a scholarship at the Art Center School of Design in California, he studied Advertising, and developed a strong, recognizable style to his work. His first documentary feature film about a young homeless street skater in Venice Beach will premiere soon this year.
