So about 6 months ago, Ray Mate from Mighty Healthy asked me if I wanted to contribute some of my old photos for an issue of Frank 151 they were working on to celebrate 10 years of Mighty. Of course I said yes. Some of you might not know that I was a skateboard photographer back in the ’90s, but all those photos I shot are sitting in boxes in my storage unit and I’ve been putting off going through them for almost a decade. I was excited to dig them out and start going through them.
It was a very overwhelming process. I must have 5,000 slides and 10,000 negatives that I want to get scanned, but we found a good 50 pictures – some of them unseen and most I forgot I had even shot. All the photos we selected are from 1995-1998. I want to thank Ray for including me in this special issue and also making me dig out these photos and finally get them scanned. The issue looks amazing. It has great interviews and photos from a lot of talented people including my fellow friends and bloggers Peter Pabon and Van Styles, so if you’re into skateboarding and streetwear, it is a must read. Head over to FRANK151.COM to get your copy.
