The first time I remember meeting Ali Macofsky was when her bright, bleach blonde hair caught my eye when she worked a few doors down, both of us busting our asses. The Melrose Ave hustle. I don’t remember what we talked about that first time but I do remember laughing.
Now, that might be a stereotypical intro to how I met a comedic genius but moments after meeting Ali Macofsky, one realizes that she is really on some other shit. What I love about Ali the most is her hustle, resilience, and ability to tell stories. Every comic has to have these things but the difference between Ali Mac and them is in a few short years she has become a staple on the Sunset BLVD comedy scene. Before the end of the world this year, she was a regular at The Comedy Store, she hosts a hilarious podcast called Resting Bitch, and she appears on the most culturally significant comedy-based media platform out there, The Joe Rogan Experience.
Ali Macofsky was an easy choice when searching for a host for the Blondie Beach and Family Style Drive-Thru Theater. Check out the conversation we had when she visited the office recently.
