The Spring 2016 show Balenciaga is presenting for Paris Fashion Week this fall, and it will be the last one helmed by American fashion legend Alexander Wang. The luxury brand and its parent company Kering have recently announced that they will not be renewing his contract, taking a page out of the book of sister brand Gucci and beginning a search for a lesser known designer to take Wang’s place. In the 3 years since taking over from veteran Nicolas Ghesquière, Alexander Wang helped reshape the brand incorporating a darker gothic aesthetic with a emphasis on monochromatic looks as well as revamping the presentations at fashion weeks all across the world.
