“Quiet… That’s what it seems like to capture an image. That half of a second the camera is snapping is the most silent moment. You don’t breathe, you don’t blink, and you don’t move. Seeing through the camera lens, my surroundings blur out, with only one focus. I promise you… you won’t hear a thing,” says David Rivera.
For the last six years, David Rivera‘s been developing his particular style in photography and graphic design. His work spans from clients like American Apparel and Power 106, to even The Hundreds where he serves as our Headwear and Accessories designer. From landscapes to street photography, wide expanses and urban spaces, Rivera’s photos depict images and intriguing people from all around the globe.
This coming Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 7pm, streetwear boutique eTc Tacoma and Hennessy are presenting David’s first photo show, called “QUIET,” an homage to the split seconds of silence when capturing a moment into an image. The exhibition will run at eTc, located at 907 Pacific Ave (Tacoma, WA 98402) until November 15, 2014. Sponsored by Hennessy US, the show was carefully curated by Rivera and eTc’s Co-Creative Director and #RSWD fam Umi Wagoner. All the images in the exhibit are unreleased and will be available for purchase on November 1 until November 15.
