Introducing the Back to The Hundreds lookbook, shot by Bobby Hundreds on location at the Universal Studios backlot, the Twin Pines mall, and Marty McFly’s Hill Valley home. The Back to The Hundreds collection will be available on the day that Marty McFly travels to the future in Back to the Future II, October 21, 2015, at The Hundreds’ flagship stores, select retailers, and the brand’s Online Shop.
As most brand loyalists know, Back to the Future is Bobby Hundreds’ favorite movie of all time (He even drives a DeLorean). Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the time-travelling, coming-of-age story led to Bobby’s lifelong obsession with time and timelessness, impacting his brand from retail buildouts to T-shirt graphics. Between Back to the Future and The Hundreds, the parallels of California culture, adolescence, ‘80s-‘90s nostalgia, skateboarding, sneakers, and rock and roll have resonated through the generations. At its core, Back to the Future’s masterful storytelling has been the secret sauce, an art that also anchors The Hundreds, where “Everything begins with a story.”
As we near October 21, 2015, isn’t it an intriguing idea that the clothes that Marty wears in Back to the Future II were actually by The Hundreds? Incorporating contemporary design and innovative materials, we honed in on specific iconic pieces from the films for this collaboration—looks that we could reappropriate into The Hundreds’ context—like the unmistakable red vest (which is streamlined for 2015) and the self-drying jacket from the future (which utilizes Dri-fit and our Nano Coat technology to actually work!). We also involved defining aspects of the trilogy onto a series of graphic T-shirts, pullovers, and a crew neck sweatshirt.
