Family Style Fest 2022 was a blast and if you stopped by the Adam Bomb Squad booth you probably met the ABS EATS crew: Nate (Nate Americano), Josh (Strawbs.eth), Daniel (Panduh), and Anthony (Antp323). If you have spent any time in The Hundreds Discord, you have undoubtedly come across at least one of these Adam Bomb Squad members, the founding fathers of ABS EATS Los Angeles, a community that was built from within the Adam Bomb Squad.
We're still thinking about all the amazing food and people at @familystylefest

ABS EATS was founded by four guys who share similar interests in the Adam Bomb Squad and good food. Working as a team, they found their mascot, a chicken sando with an uncanny resemblance to Adam Bomb. For those who don’t remember, a free chicken sandwich from Hotville Chicken at Family Style 2021 was one of the first physical utilities for ABS holders. The crew took that tasty piece of lore and ran with it.
You had to arrive at the Adam Bomb Squad booth pretty early in the day during Family Style Fest 2022 to find yourself lucky enough to grab one of the most exclusive tees at the festival. I was able to catch up with the ABS EATS founders to talk about food, community, and Adam Bomb Squad.

How did ABS EATS get started and how did you guys get this opportunity at Family Style Fest to release an official The Hundreds T-shirt?
Nate: We kept meeting up with other people, we had one guy move away, and the core four of us said ‘hey let’s do something more official.’ So we started calling ourselves ABS EATS and because I am a mod I was talking with Sandy about it, and she saw that we were getting together with a lot of the community. She actually thanked me for doing what we do, and I was like ‘Thanks for letting us do it and not shutting us down.’ We floated the idea of doing a Tee for holders at Family Style, her (Sandy) and David (Rivera) said “go-ahead” and the rest is history.
Panduh: I think it all comes down to what Bobby (Hundreds) always says. ‘If you want to be noticed you just have to do it and show us.’ We went by that mentality a lot.
Strawbs: We kept our heads down and worked on what we wanted to do and what we want to bring to the community. Everybody talks about utility and stuff like that, but the biggest thing is meeting great people and having great memories. Creating something that is long-lasting, relationships last forever so people can pump and dump as much as they want but if you’re committed to the crew good things can happen. One of the biggest first events of the crew was a bonfire last year and I think about thirty people showed up.

When you started organizing the meetups initially, were you funding them yourselves?
Panduh: We funded a lot of the stuff from our own pocket since the beginning. We just thought it was worth it.
Antp323: It’s something we all wanted to do, we all agreed on it. We split it four ways and then just ran with it.
So who came up with the design for the T-shirt?
[In unison, the crew points directly at Antp323]
Panduh: Well it was Ant’s idea and then I was like I think I can do this and we should make it a shirt. We actually showed them at the Cinco De Mayo party and we gave one to Bobby and Sandy and all of them, they loved it, it is just a funny inside joke within the community.
Antp323: There was an article that came out like, ‘What was the first utility for ABS holders… A Chicken Sandwich’ (the crew chuckles, myself included) It was perfect.
Nate: We took the meme and ran with it.
Strawbs: It’s really cool seeing something that was sparked out of joy and it brings joy to other people. I think that’s kind of kept us going, we really like what we are doing.

What are some future goals you guys have for ABS EATS? Obviously, the group is getting bigger and gaining notoriety, what’s next?
Strawbs: The Hundreds used to do Eat Meets and so that’s one of our goals to see if we can work with them to bring that back.
Panduh: I know one of our main goals is we really want to focus on businesses and ways to bring them traffic and help out the places we enjoy eating at. We all have different tastes so we think that’s a great way to synergize everything all around, to expose holders to places they might not have tried.
Nate: Trying to bring back The Hundreds Eat Meets they used to do, that’s the main goal. Bring the Web3 people into it and support businesses, support us, support one another, and just get to know one another. It is not about money for us it’s just about doing things for the community. Obviously, we don’t want to pour our entire life savings into it but we aren’t in this to make money we are in this to build the community, get to know one another, and just make friends.
You are the ABS EATS crew so I have to know, what is each of your favorite spots to eat at?
Nate: Jon & Vinny’s
Panduh: Daybird LA
Strawbs: Tacos Y Birria La Unica
Antp323: Villas Tacos

It’s hard not to be bullish on ABS EATS, they have turned the community into the ultimate utility. The exclusive collab T-shirt might have only been available to Adam Bomb Squad holders at Family Style Fest but you don’t need to even be a holder to attend one of their ABS EATS meet-ups. All are welcome to go hang with the crew at their next event. Their Twitter is a must-follow @AbsEats and each of them is active in Discord, it’s the best way to get all the info on what they’re planning next. Getting utility like this without being a holder is amazing and is a great way for those who are new to The Hundreds Discord or interested in becoming an ABS holder. ABS EATS can provide a first-hand experience of what it is like being involved in the community.
If you happen to find yourself in need of a food reco, the ABS EATS crew has you covered with their newly launched website that features an interactive map with highlighted locations of restaurants that were at Family Style Fest, personal recommendations from each of the founding fathers, as well as restaurants featured on Ben Hundreds show “Big Appetite”.
