Here are the remainder of my photographs from Saturday’s May Day rally in Los Angeles: portraits of participants. Although most were here to support immigration reform and to denounce Arizona SB 1070, that doesn’t mean everyone was cut from the same political cloth. The Communist Party was represented, as well as the Gay Community, the Laborers and Unions, the Anti-Illuminati, the Chinese, the Evangelicals, the Crust Punks, and anyone else who demanded to be heard. Not everyone shared the same ideas, some were far extreme and maybe off on their own agenda, but they all seized the opportunity to express their First Amendment rights, their freedom of speech. And that’s what makes America so beautiful.
