That’s right, we watched Polica twice (this time at the Filter house). Maybe it was the dual drum setup, the sultry sweet vocals of former Roma di Luna’s Channy Casselle, her membership in The Hundreds’ favorite GAYNGS, or the layered musical texture of the quartet, but it was well worth it. As girls swayed to Casselle’s movements, and an unusually high ratio of 30+ year old toughguys blinked doe-eyed with her every beat, Polica delivered. If SXSW’s intent is to hone in on the next big thing, Polica answers the call.
