EYE OF THE HURRICANE :: SAMANTHA IN HONG KONG

EYE OF THE HURRICANE :: SAMANTHA IN HONG KONG

I totally forgot about Samantha.  I don’t know how that’s even possible, but I did.

Samantha.  You know, Julia’s sister.  The last time I saw her was in 2011, when she stopped by the office.  She had already been living in Hong Kong for a few years at that point, but was in for another few. And I promised that the next time I was in HK, we’d hang out.  We missed each other a few times and then I totally spaced, until she left a comment on my IG on my last day in the city.

At that point, I was already trying to set up a shoot in my room at the Upper House, considering the view and the layout.  Sam was the prime target.

The half-Asian model towers at 5’10, but she’s 9 feet tall in heels.  Her platinum hair is a signature move at this point.  She’s reading Dune right now, spends way too much time on this site, and has a long night ahead as a hurricane moves into Hong Kong.  So, she orders a couple pizzas and curls up.

I had all these big plans to shoot her against the windows, the natural light flooding the room, and the city sprawled around her.  But mother nature had another idea, so as the typhoon seeped into the afternoon, we turned the shoot inwards and came up with something even better.
