Rick Rodney is not only the frontman for hardcore band Strife, but a veteran photographer as well. I first met Rick years ago growing up in the Southern California music scene and we got pepper-sprayed together after a Strife/Descendents show at the Orange Show by riot cops. It wasn’t until years later that we re-connected in the Los Angeles circle, and it doesn’t hurt that his lovely girlfriend Jane also writes here on the blog (Hi Jane! *waves*).

Over the weekend, Rick’s solo exhibition “The Present Past” opened at Slow Culture in Highland Park. I should mention that this is a new gallery run by our friends from The Oinkster, Steve Lee, and Benjie (the artist formerly known as The Hundreds’ head Graphic Designer). And I should also add that the show is effing incredible. Go experience it.
