Since we’ve been coming to SXSW, the anchor of the entire week has been the Fader Fort, which is The Fader Magazine‘s daily showcase of what’s hot in music for the next year. It’s always a perfect combination of rap, rock, and electronic, with the Saturday night closing performance being the most talked-about show of SXSW without fail. Years past have seen everyone from Amy Winehouse to Kanye West grace the stage – this year it was Macklemore, Bun B, and Diddy coming in to shut the Fort down at the tail end of Earl’s and French Montana’s sets.

We sat down with Fader’s president and publisher Andy Cohn (who also is a big The Hundreds supporter) to give us a bit of backstory on Fader Fort and why it remains the main stage at SXSW after all these years:
