BETTER DAYS :: 2012's BEST ESSAYS

Okay, so now this is getting way self-indulgent, and I’m handpicking my favorite personal essays I’ve written this year. You know, as the years go on, there are more “graphic designers” and “photographers,” everyone’s a “blogger” and a content provider. But the true writers are far and few between, and at the end of the day, they are the ones who keep the Internet moving. So it has become increasingly important for me to emphasize and fine-tune my writing skills to help set us apart from the rest of the pack, and clearly explain what The Hundreds is and how we do it. I’d like to think that these essays are the heart of our brand experience, and while all the pretty pictures grab your attention, words are what keep it.

“How do You Start a Brand?”– Just do you.
SOPA KING WE TODD IT – Why SOPA sucked and how the Internet came together to defeat it.
DONDA – Be like Kanye. See horizons, not borders.
Screen Resolution – Ben and I got laughed at by our first screenprinting shop. And now it’s ours.
Refused are not Fucking Dead – The resurrection of punk band Refused.
It is what it isn’t – Why the definition of Skateboarding is undefined.
MC Adam – A farewell to Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys

Thanks for reading.
