Well, on behalf of The Hundreds, I’m very proud to introduce our latest shoe collaboration, this time with a longtime friend of ours, Benny Gold. The well-reputed illustrator, designer, and brand owner poured his efforts into his very own Johnson Low. Inspired by the city of San Francisco and the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, the outer shell of the shoe is made with a rust colored patina and ostrich leather (symbolizing the bridge’s colorway) and features traces of aqua throughout the shoe (to tie in the presence of the Pacific Ocean). Gradient gray and white laces are representative of San Francisco’s ubiuitous fog, while the tongue and insole feature a specially designed The Hundreds logo refashioned to include Benny Gold’s trademark paper plane.
The shoe will be available in limited quantities at The Hundreds’ and Benny Gold’s flagship locations this Friday and through The Hundreds’ and Benny Gold’s Online Shops on November 12, 2012.
And don’t forget, we’ll be celebrating with Benny this Friday night at his shop in SF: 3169 16th Street.
