Public Label Spring/Summer 2011 continues the PL tradition of correlating American sportswear, military and workwear via a themed 1940s-era naval reproduction approach.

The concept with the current collection was to transport the wearer to vintage wartime America, as a youth enlisting in the military. This direction was accomplished through an overall homage aesthetic, modern updates and intense attention to detail.

J3:

12oz. cotton denim deck jacket. Fabric is made in Japan at the Kurabo Denim Mill. 40’s reproduction deck jacket. Triple needle stitching , enzyme stone wash, and hand abrasion. Dark antique brass tack buttons and Flag direct embroidery on front chest pocket.

100% Cotton French terry crewneck. Vintage knit fabric and pattern with flatlock stitching, and single-hit screen print at chest. Bar-tack reinforcements at rib-openings. Ribbed “V” at neck. Made in Canada.

ND3:

Japanese milled twill chino. 19 inch outseam. Traditional U.S.N. embroidered reinforcements at pockets. Buttoned fly, welt coin and rear pockets. Hidden screen print detail at cuffs.

Recycled Cotton/Polyester pilled jersey tank top with self-fabric rib at collar and sleeve openings. Flag embroidery at chest pocket. Garment washed for softer hand feel. Hidden detail at inside bottom opening.

Indigo dyed cotton chambray. 40’s Naval mechanics shirt with mini parts pockets with snap closure. Flag direct embroidery at chest. Triple needle stitching for durability.

F5:

Heavy weight 100% cotton vintage knit brushed fleece. Two-way YKK zipper and natural cotton drawstrings. Welt pockets at hips. Screen print and removed patch detail at chest. Made in Canada.

Japanese milled twill chino. 40’s naval reproduction. Rounded collar, heavy-duty metal two-way zipper, and buttoned placket. Distressed screen print at chest.
