During World War II, many women joined the labor force, taking over jobs in the manufacturing sector and in the shipyards and factories to replace the men who were overseas fighting. Rosie the Riveter became a cultural icon, appearing in ads to promote women getting jobs to help keep the American economy afloat during the war. Rosie became an iconic symbol of feminism there was even a movie based on the character released in 1944. The Hundreds flipped Rosie the Riveter into a more modern version featuring a sleeve of tattoos and a hoodie, with our motto "Strength In Numbers" on the back side of the T-shirt.
