Test Shot :: Johanna Gomez

Test Shot :: Johanna Gomez

Timing is everything, especially in photography. I remember getting an e-mail from Johanna Gomez back in Mach of 2014. For one reason or another we were never able to connect until this year. I like to let shoots happen naturally vs. being forced, which usually works out better for me when creating. So I had Johanna cruise out to my studio in The Valley for a test shoot. Needless to say, we wound up doing a few looks and she was really cool to work with. Aside from being able to deliver, she seemed to have a good head on her shoulders. So it seemed only right to share some insight to her as well as one of the sets we created here for a new “Test Shot” segment. Check out the images below along with her interview!

What up Jo? Let’s get things going. How old are you?
28.

What is your ethnicity?
Hispanic.

Where were you born?
Los Angeles—literally by downtown LA!

That’s awesome. Not too many people I have worked with can claim that. Where do you currently live?
Currently in the Valley, but who knows where I’ll live in the next couple of months.

Valley life with a little free spirit. I like that. Speaking of likes can you give us some of yours? Genuine people, animals, traveling, art, and eating good food.

What about dislikes? Fake people, when people are late, empty words.

What do you want to be when you grow up? My own boss, always.

Great answer. What are some of your influences? Anyone that has pursued their dreams no matter what the circumstances were.

Do you have a favorite food? Brazilian, Italian, Mexican.

What about your favorite place you have traveled to? Two, and they are completely different: Paris & Dominican Republic!

Both amazing. What do you want to visit before you die? The 7 Wonders of the World.

What is your current form of employment? Commercial, print, and promo modeling.

Do you have a favorite type of music? I would have to say I’m an old soul. I love blues and classic rock. However I’m not limited to that. I love my Latin music and hip-hop as well.

What is the weirdest situation you have ever found yourself in? It’s really hard for me to feel weird because I’m a weirdo.

Nothing wrong with being a weirdo. What do you enjoy about having your picture taken? I like the art behind it. The story it entails. The composition of colors and the fact that every photographer views you differently and that the viewer also comes up with their own interpretation.

Any parting words? Actions speak louder than words darlings! Peace out!
