The Unstoppable Champion Vandal is the appropriately-named exclusive collaborative Nike shoe with artist Geoff Mcfetridge, who is known for his simplistic depictions of Bigfoot and other furry mammals.

On Sunday, November 9, 2003, Geoff stopped off at Undefeated in Los Angeles for the Champion Vandal's opening gala. Only a few dozen pairs of Geoff's personalized Vandals were sold (for $150) to the hordes of sneaker fiends who had been lined up for hours. The rest of the kids had to settle for "un-cut" Vandals ($100) that were still, very much, fire. (Essentially, the Vandals' top layer of cloth can be shredded with an X-acto knife to expose Geoff's metallic artwork underneath!)

Along with the shoes, were Nike's exclusive Geoff Mcfetridge sports watches that were goin' off for $140 a pop!

Speaking of the line outside, heads had the opportunity to see a screening of Geoff's animated cartoons on Undefeated's outside wall. Much respect to Geoff, Nike, and the Undefeated crew...

thehundreds:
so what's goin on tonight, man?
geoff mfetridge: It's the release of the vandals! The Champion Vandals. And I did an art installation, art pieces around the release, and an animation.

how did this all come about?
Well, (Nike) asked me to do a Dunk and I didn't want to do a Dunk, so I proposed to do a different shoe. And they came to me with the Vandal, which is already a cool shoe. So we just worked on it, with Jesse and Darla.
Was there a specific reason not to go with the Dunk?
I felt like it was not my style. The dunk was so established. I wanted to do something fresh so I could do something new.
Have u always been a fan of Nike shoes, or shoes in general?
Yeah, totally. I'm not crazy for shoes, but yeah yeah..I've always been into it.
