name, age, location, occupation, crews you ride with?

My name is Greg, but people call me Craola. I live in Redondo Beach just outside of Los Angeles. I am a texture artist on video games. I am in CBS, WAI and VT crews.

how'd you get into graf and how long have you been doin it?

I got into graffiti through some kids in my youth group when i was like 17 years old and have been doing it around 11 years, but my wall activity has tailed off in the last couple years because of work and the number of commission paintings i need to finish for clients.

what do you think about the explosion of graf heads who have blown up in the mainstream? i.e. Shepard Fairey, Futura, Kaws...

Good for them. I am stoked on what they have been able to do with their artwork. The are living out their dreams and doing what they love to support themselves. I guess that's what everyone is trying to do and they are able to do it.

where do you think graffiti is headed, in terms of style and culture?

I think it is going to get more and more technical. I also think the whole "elements" thing has broken down. There are a lot of graffiti kids out there who enjoy hip hop, but don't embrace the music or the culture as their own. They are into metal, punk....Frank Sinatra, it doen't matter, and are rockin' the most hardcore burners.

what are you favorite cans, tips, colors?

I will always be a Krylon supporter, but have gotten infected with the Belton bug and have a hard time finding any problems with it. Tips i guess testors and rusto fats of course on the Krylon, gold dots and grey dots and whatever sprays fat on the belton, and of course the home made skinny tips.

In general i like to do alot of grey, black and white pieces with colors added in, so i generally use Krylon semi- flat black, pewter grey, dark anadized bronze, and smoke grey..and with belton, mouse grey and whatever compliments that. and then whatever cool colors i have at the time to accentuate it as well as golds.

what do you like to paint?

I like to paint 3 dimensional stuff and wierd creatures i guess. i also like some graphic design looking stuff.

any exhibitions, street corners, places we can go to see your work right now? Any upcoming projects you want to advertise?

I have a few walls running in Melrose, North Hollywood and LA right now, but they are pretty old. I plan on working on a new wall once i get back from my honeymoon coming up.
