This season, a lot of brands were missing from the show opting to take a different route than the usual booth set up in a giant venue. The Suite – Escape from New York featured several predominately New York based brands showcasing their upcoming release in suites in the Palazzo hotel. One brand included our homies Might Healthy. Here we have a few tees from their upcoming season including one which was collaborated with photographer John Yates. Check your local MH dealer over the next couple of weeks for the release.

While visiting Ray and the Mighty Healthy guys at The Suite in the Palazzo Hotel, I came across another New York native, Proof 7. This seasons collection features some pretty funny maryjay inspired tees, and cut & sew. Their cut & sew was probably my favorite of the show. With little golden jewels like the hidden smoke pocket to store your goodies, so you don’t smell like you just came from the Canibus Club all day. Check the rest of the collection out at your local shop, or Boundless NY over the next couple of weeks.

MAGIC is finally over so here we are to wrap up the final day with a look at a couple pieces coming from Obey this fall. The guys have given us a peek at a pair of their denim, an outerwear jacket, and backpack. They’ve really focused on the detail in this seasons collection, from the stitching on their jackets to the details on their backpacks. Stay tuned for the rest of the collection as the season as the season progresses.

We’ll finish the week off with the rest of collections from the MAGIC trade show earlier this week, starting off with Mike Giants label REBEL8’s womens Fall collection. Just as with the mens line all designs have been hand drawn by Mike Giant himself featuring his unique sailor tattoo inspired theme. Some of the same dope styles we see for the guys are now available for the ladies. The fall release also includes various accessories such as scarfs, socks, and buttons. Stop by your local REBEL8 dealer for the release, or their online shop here.

Next we have a few pieces from Freshjive’s special edition t-shirts done with legendary photographer, Edward Colver. Originally obtaining notoriety for documenting the early Los Angeles Punk scene and culture, Edward Colver has captured some of the most iconic photos ever shot. But this was just the beginning. Edward, with his discerning eye, has over the years captured photographic images that stand alone as art beyond the realm of the L.A. punk days. This Friday, August 29, Freshjive and the Reserve store will be exhibiting some of Ed’s more obscure but equally powerful photos, some of which have never been seen before. Limited edition Edward Colver T shirts, will be available at the opening. The event starts at 7pm, and Reserve is located at 420 N. Fairfax Los Angeles, CA.
