Keep Me Hanging On Feeling Nothing’s Wrong Inside Your Heaven

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of shooting the very beautiful Kristen Leanne.  These are some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken, it was super effortless to shoot this doll.  Besides being pretty Kristen also makes jewelry.  You can see some of her stuff at Sideshow By The Sea.  If you wanna see more of Kristen check her Tumbr and Twitter.  Hopefully these photos help make your Monday a little less Monday-y.

On another awesome note Bago and I are heading to New York Thursday.  Lurk us to keep up with our madness.

Sun Is In The Sky Oh Why Oh Why Would I Wanna Be Anywhere Else

Spent the day with my beautiful friends Megan & Mia.  It’s a pretty amazing thing to still have friends after the most difficult years of your life, and seeing that we’re all ok.  I love these women, and I love taking pictures of them.

If this dude was mine I’d name him Bowser, obviously.

Here Kitty Kitty

Shay Maria & I had some fun last night with these photos, she’s just so easy to photograph.  AND naturally beautiful, check some of my favorites.  See more of her on her Tumblr which is updated frequently & follow her on Twitter.  Everyone loves Shay, this is why:

Did y’all see Shay in the new Markisa video?  Adorable.

Have a lovely Thanksgiving weekend!  Love, Meow

Damn Right I Like The Life I Live

Last night 17 of the best homies and I ventured out for a Clippers game thanks to Mackey.  It was tons of funs.

Does this guy know how to party or wut.

Have a lovely Sunday kitties.

Sailin’ On

Last night everyone I love came together, got awesome, and planned a surprise dinner for my birthday.  We ate amazing Italian & I’m so grateful for everyone who came, mushy mushy mushy.  Never had anyone set up a surprise for me, I love you guys.

I think this was my first adult- ish birthday, I was beyond content eating awesome food with awesome people, didn’t black out (or drink at all) & was happy to just hang with genuinely rad friends.  It ruled.

Right Meow: Marz Lovejoy

I got the pleasure of shooting and spending time with the young, talented, dedicated, and beautiful Marz Lovejoy.  She has an extremely contagious positive vibe about her and in a time where younger people who have accomplished nothing have a bigger ego than Kanye, she is quite the opposite.  A down to Earth and loving girl, we wish her nothing but the most success and lots of love.  Here’s some questions so you may get to know Marz a little better:

When did you know that music was what you wanted to pursue

Around 5th grade.  I always wrote poetry, but 5th grade I started rapping (to myself).  I didn’t think I could really pursue it til I was around 16 or 17.

What made you chose film school out of everything

Well, after dropping out of community college in Minneapolis, to get back home to LA I had to pick a school.  Fast.  It was between music and film school.  I knew I’d be doing music regardless- so film it was.

What’s your writing process like

Schizophrenic.  I scribble, draw, write, recite, destroy, memorize.  All that until I have mustered up something worthy.

Who/ what influences you the most

My mother, Susanne is a big influence in my life.  Other than her (& family & friends)…

How has the internet (for better or worse) impacted what you do

Ah, the glorious yet insidious world wide web, where would I be without it?!  It’s definitely been more beneficial than detrimental.  YouTube, Twitter, Ustream, Tumblr and Facebook have all been great factors in my “musical success” and have given me the platform for broader communication.  Our generation is technologically savvy and a lot of the time, if you aren’t popular via the web you aren’t popular period.  Bloggers and GMail helps too, hence this interview!

How do you feel about current music/ artists today

That’s a pretty broad question considering music is so vast.  But if you asked do I listen to the radio, no.  Are there talented unsigned folks out there I support and listen to, yes.  I’m excited to get my points across and be part of this artistry.

What music are you currently listening to most

Other than me?!  Kidding.  Cee-Lo, DPG, Flying Lotus, Quadron, Wu Tang, Odd Future, some Kanye..

What did you want to be as a little girl, who did you look up to

I never knew exactly, but I did know I wanted to help people and change the world.  I’ve always looked up to my mother.

What’s an average day with Marz consist of

Average, there’s the basics eat, sleep, eat, write/ rap, toilet biz, eat, shower (not in that order).  Then fun adventures, friends, emailing.  Work, stretching, illegal things, meditating, reading, recording, shopping, filming (not in that order) are usually interwoven with the basics.  Not having a 9 – 5 allows things to change constantly.

What are you currently working on

I’m working on a lot of promo for my project that drops November 22nd- This Monday!  My debut EP This Little Light Of Mine which will be on Itunes.  I’ve also been doing a lot of preparation for the launch of my website www.marzlovejoy.com which will be ready November 22nd as well.  Music as always and preparing for the next steps to come- If you stay ready you ain’t got to get ready.

Want more Marz?  Check her Twitter, YouTube, & Tumblr.  Also download STICKY & LOVE BULLET GUN by clicking on them!

Behind The Scenes With Justene Jaro

I took some photos of the beautiful Justene Jaro for the new Hundreds x Primitive poster.  Here’s some of my favorites that we got from the shoot.  Enjoy.

Scorpio Women

Last night some of my favorite women in my life took me to a pre- pre birthday dinner. We got sushi and I got a ridiculous pin.

Everyone should wear this on their birthday.

2 of these girls were my band members in middle school.  We ruled.  TSF por vida.

Also today is the lovely and amazing Megan Baltimore‘s birthday!!! YAY!!!  Love you so much woman.

Also yesterday was the beautiful Justene Jaro‘s birthday!  Wish her a happy birthday if you haven’t already!  Scorpio women rule.

Sticky

This week’s Right Meow feature is on Marz Lovejoy.  I shot the adorable singer/ songwriter/ baby hustler last night.  Here’s a few photos, all will be up Friday along with an interesting interview.  For now look at these while listening to Sticky.  Nice to know there’s still talent in the world.
