Every Time We Hit The Parking Lot We Turn Heads

Last night was the Street League party at Rob Dyrdek‘s Fantasy Factory.

This wasn’t there but it’s dope as fuck.

Carlos Zarazua was rocking his Jesus Christ ice.

Lots and lots of people.

Yelawolf preformed

Shane actually let me take a picture of him.

If yer ass is out I’ll probably take a picture of it.

Dan getting was getting feisty and unbuttoning his shirt.

Bun B preformed next and it was pretty epic.  I have never seen Billy so hyped.  It was awesome.

Da lovely Brandon was there along with the lovelier Grace.

Jordan on the other hand was over life.

Billy and Torey were not. “No Homo”-Bill

This is Torey’s face.

Carlos happened to turn 23 at midnight.  Feliz cumpleaños vato!

Paul Wall preformed next, everyone was hyped.

Paul Wall then proceeded to show me his grill.  I need to get one right meow.

Billy and Yuto were “getting it in”.

And the lovely Talisa Monet was there of course.  Cholas Unite.

It was an epic evening.  Bye fur meow meow.

Right Meow: Bombón

Bombón is by far my favorite local band at the moment, these chicks from San Pedro rule.  After reading this and hearing their jams you will understand why, unless you like shitty music. They are most deffy playing my wedding.

When did you guys start Bombón

We started Bombón a little over a year ago, summer of 2009.

How’d you get the name

Its always really hard to decide on a final name, but we knew we wanted something fun and bubbly.  So we decided on Bombón, which means marshmallow in Spanish.

Biggest musical influences

We definitely vary in influences. I love all music, and believe there will always be something good in every genre. Surf music has always been a huge influence, from Link Wray and Dick Dale to the Huntington Cads and JFA.  So far almost all of the surf bands I’ve heard, I’ve loved.

If you could open for anyone who would it be

I would hope either Billy Childish or the sweet lady with the nasty voice known as Ms. Wanda Jackson.

Most memorable show so far

Waverly Alabama, at a place called the Standard Deluxe. We played with the Pine Hill Haints, and felt as surreal as being in an old 1930′s film in the South. It was hot and humid, and rained during various times throughout the day (with thunder and lightning). Fried green tomatoes were also a big part of the day, as well as the unfortunate little girl that Jerico and I hung out with who got stung by yellow jackets.  Just when we thought this place couldn’t get any more epic, it was also across from an old cemetery. This description doesn’t do it justice.

When and where will you tour next

At the moment, Egypt.  Well, someday at least.

What are y’all currently working on

We are working on pieces for future songs.  Yay!

Who’s yer number one fan

Oh well, that would be you! If you want?

What’s yer favorite candy

Currently, yogurt covered almonds.

Why do you girls rule so hard

The question is… why do YOU rule!?

Who knows ladies, who knows.  But listen to “Oh Baby” by these girls right meow!  And go to their Myspace to hear more of their awesomeness & find out about upcoming shows!  Pastel is my personal favorite.

Viva Bombón!

Well It’s Been A Long Time, Long Time Now Since I’ve Seen You Smile

Here’s some more photos of more babes in more Hundreds shirts.  These are all from the upcoming Fall Collection.  See? Guys AND girls can wear The Hundreds.  Yay!

Yup, thats my totally perfect kitty Swagger up in the left corner.

So then Swagger got a little too crazy.  He’s an attention whore.

And there’s many, many more tees in this collection, make sure to check em all out. Holla!

You Hella Love It Right

So as we all know da homie Alexander Spit played at Crazy Girls last night.  I just wanna give a lil warning these photos are quite feisty, don’t look if yer a little kid. Yeah right, ok anyways the show was awesome and Alex killed it of course.  Go to his site to download his new jam Hella right meow.

Billy looks extremely excited…. JK that’s what he looks like whenever he sees Alex.

Do work girl.

Ah yes, it was good times as you can see.  And that’s probably the last time I’ll ever get to shoot in that environment so thanks Alex!

I Know I’m Feeling Brave But That’s Because My Heart’s Untied

Beach Fossils played their first LA show last night.  Although their original guitarist quit apparently, they did an amazing job and were awesome to see live.

Beach Fossils are definitely a good show to see live, like many other bands associated with Force Field.  If you can see them I highly recommend it.  Speaking of shows, Alexander Spit is playing tonight.

Get there.  If you can’t I’ll be taking mad photos of ass and titties and posting them ASAP.  Jk. Kinda.

Teenage Town

Yesterday we saw Audacity play at the Echo.  They’re one of my favorites, amazing kids from Fullerton.

Check out some more dope bands on Burger Records & Small Pool Records, they know whussup.

Booyeahshakala!

Got My A Machines On The Table Got My B Machines In The Drawer

Yesterday was eventful. We started out at the pool of Petit Ermitage Hotel bla bla.  They had cool bathrooms.

Then over to Barracuda for the Rebel8 event featuring live art by Mr. Mike Giant.

Eat Skeet

Da man of da hour

The very awesome Eric Dressen was there.  Y’all should check out Yer Cheat’n Heart, best tattoo shop evs.

Smell like a man, man.

Then we headed over to Cha Cha.  Look at the determination in Tony’s eyes.

Alex, Alex, and not Alex.

My totally awesome friend Eric Anthony, one of the amazing Art Dump dudes, got engaged 2 days ago! Congratulations cuties.

Babes

Later y’all.

Jumping Music, Slick Deejays, Fog Machines and Laser Rays

Saturday we experienced the madness that is known as Freak City

We love Alexander Spit.  Especially when he makes faces like this.

No ventilation or AC didn’t stop these people from raging.

Theophilus London had a lovely performance

Then Ninja Sonik came on and everyone lost their shit in an extremely awesome way.  They were totally amazing to take photos of live, and just to see them perform live in general. They ruled is what I’m saying.

Hot mess w/ Bago.  She has big eyes for being azn huh.

Ruling, all day.

Follow Ninja Sonik, read about future shows and ruling situations!

She Wore scarlet begonias tucked into her curls

Y’all remember my roommate Lauren, I shot her yesterday

Dis is my baby kitty Swagger, he’s studly.

Right Meow: Theo Kogan

This week I talked to musician, model, & lip gloss maker Theo Kogan

Where did you grow up

I grew up in Brooklyn, New York

What’s one of your favorite Lunachicks memories

So many favorites.   One specific favorite was playing Redding Festival, while our home base was a house boat on the Thames River- many, many stories about that –there were only a couple of beds in there and when you slept on the floor, when the tide came in or out, as it did you’d wake up in a different place from where you went to sleep from sliding with the tide. Aside from playing Redding, seeing Nirvana play at the very height of their fame was amazing.

Most memorable modeling gig

The CKBE  campaign – working with Richard Avedon and Dune Arbus – daughter of photographer Diane Arbus. This experience was incredible and  life changing. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with such a legend as Avedon. He was a true gem.

Proudest moment so far

I feel the best when I hear that any music I have been a part of has helped someone. There have been young girls and women who have written me and said that a Lunachicks album helped them thru a breakup or divorce, or that our political stance on women’s rights (being pro choice) helped them feel powerful or make a career choice. Being a feminist is a really good thing, not a dirty word and it doesn’t make you a ‘man – hater’.

What are you currently working on

My lip gloss line Armour Beauty! I have new colors coming out. Armourbeauty.com and working on future projects with Big Art Group.  Also doing makeup.

What did you want to be as a little girl

An Amazon Barbie, a veterinarian, a ballerina, an orthodontist.

4 biggest influences:

Lucille Ball

John Waters

Blondie (the group)

Wendy O Williams

What music are you listening to most at the moment

I just got the newest New Young Pony Club album. I have been listening to Cibo Mato lately too.

What do you think of Justin Bieber

I don’t .

Words to live by:

Leap and the net will appear.
