Marvel Comics Recreates Infamous Hip Hop Album Covers

After a recent collaboration with seminal rap group Run the Jewels, Marvel Comics has issued forth a new series that pays homage to classic hip hop album covers by reinterpreting them with superheroes from the Marvel Universe. Featuring tributes to artists from Wu Tang, Lauryn Hill and De La Soul, to Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, Marvel plans on releasing more than 50 covers total. “For years, Marvel Comics and hip hop culture have been engaged in an ongoing dialogue,” Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso said during a press release. “Beginning this October, we will shine a spotlight on the seamless relationship between those two unique forces.
