JET SET.

Here’s a quick recap of our weekend in San Francisco.

We’re walking into LAX, and the fellas from Far East Movement are on their way out.  This trio of musicians have been The Hundreds’ family since back before you heard of either of us.  Ben and I actually went to school with James (Prohgress, on the right), and we’d encourage each other to pursue our passion projects, back when we all had dirt to show.  And over the past 7 years, we’ve both advanced in our own journeys.  Far East Movement is one of Interscope’s strongest focuses at the moment, ..their fanbase is staggering.  Anyways, these rockstars are globetrotting, different shows in different cities every night, partying up, living the life.

Georgia Howard’s excited. Her beauty salon / boutique / gallery / creative space Pretty Pretty Collective is opening up in the Mission District next month. We checked out the insides, everything looks like it’s coming along. Awesome space, awesome idea Georgia.

The Hundreds San Francisco.  There’s Dorian at the helm.  The THSF television plays Stanley Kubrick’s Space Odyssey : 2001.  If you know about this shop, you know a component of the design inspiration was funneled from this iconic film.  Other movies you’ll see streaming through the monitor play along similar themes of ’70s and ’80s cinematic noir, like A Clockwork Orange, Tron, Blade Runner, and The Road Warrior.

Back at the airport, we’re a little early for our flight home. At the back of a crowded restaurant, surrounded by the buzzing of restless kids and anxious cellphone conversations, are these two ladies, seemingly oblivious to it all. They’re en route to Vegas for the weekend, looking for a little R’n'R and a lotta trouble, but in the meantime their flight is delayed so they’re trying to be creative.  It’s not long before they tell me they’re a mother and daughter team.  Viva Las Vegas.
