THE HUNDREDS PRESENTS :: HANKSY'S SURPLUS CANDY :: AUSTIN TEASER

You ready for the last episode of Hanksy’s “Surplus Candy“? We know you aren’t! But at long last, last but not least, the sixth and final episode of “Surplus Candy” is airing this Wednesday, December 10, on TheHundreds.com. Make sure to tune in as Hanksy visits Austin, Texas, home of “handguns and hot buns” to explore the burgeoning street art community there, which is unsurprisingly wrought with a sense of camaraderie he couldn’t find in other cities in this series. He runs into a gang of originals that are truly trying to “keep Austin weird,” and talks to artists like Truth, Jason Eatherly, Mouf, and Briks, who give him an insider’s look into Texas’s deep support of its Austinite art community. OH, and he eats some disgustingly good BBQ and gets meat sweats. Tune in on Wednesday for that.

“Surplus Candy” is brought to you with the help of Squarespace. Be sure to follow Hanksy’s punny adventures on his Instagram @hanksynyc and on his website www.hanksy.com.

And if you’ve missed any of our previous episodes of Surplus Candy, here’s a primer:

Internationally acclaimed – and anonymous – street artist Hanksy takes the viewer on an in-depth six-episode street art expedition in The Hundreds’ newest web series “Surplus Candy.” The series begins with an immersive look at Montreal’s budding scene, an introduction to a globe-trotting foray into other key hot-spots, including Detroit, Austin, Portland, and more.

“There’s a bunch of art getting painted on walls between New York City and LA and it’s my opinion that if a knucklehead artist like myself is randomly given some weird pseudo-serious spotlight, they use it for good not evil. The best thing I can do is show what’s up and what’s going down in the smaller markets of North America. Elevating others always beats out the dog-eat-dog.” – Hanksy
