THE HUNDREDS MAGAZINE : VOL. 03 / ISSUE: 02

The Hundreds’ very first Music issue can be purchased in our Online Shop, but we’re also publishing it online for your perusing pleasure.

The Music issue includes a photo editorial with cover girl Azealia Banks, paired with an in-depth, controversial interview chock full of her fiery opinions about the music industry, the new crop of young women rappers, and the common comparisons made between her and fellow La Guardia alum, Nicki Minaj.

Also featured among The Hundreds’ musical elite are photos and interviews with Yasmine Kittles of Tearist, BAGODJ SOSUPERSAM, and record reviews by Junior Sanchez. Other highlights within the pages include The Hundreds Spring and Summer ’12 lines and look books, alongside features on collaborators and artists like The Seventh Letter and Don Pendleton.

THE HUNDREDS HAWAII

This Saturday, the The Hundreds Hawaii capsule collection of tees releases at our authorized Hawaiian retailers Blue Hawaii, Prototype, Island Snow, Sindication, One Eighty Boardshop, and EightRocks…

And to mark the occasion, I’ll be at Prototype’s Pearlridge location on Saturday afternoon to kiss hands and shake babies – I mean sign babies and kiss boobies – I mean…

Anyways, the flyers for the in-store appearance and after-party are at the end of this post.  In the interim, here’s our official lookbook for The Hundreds Hawaii collection, all shot on location in Oahu…

RSWD REAL

Four years is a long time; it’s the entirety of high school or college or how long Thundercats was on the air, and that’s how much time Alex Spit dedicated to us here at The Hundreds.  He started off at POST — The Hundreds San Francisco — and followed his music career down to Los Angeles where you’ve seen him on Rosewood.  But now Spit moves on, having recently signed a deal, and his music career demands pulling the rapper away from any other side hustle.  We’ve done our best to preach the gospel of Alex Spit to our audience, and now it’s the world’s turn to stand up and support one of hip-hop’s best-kept secrets.  You can continue to keep up with Alexander Spit through his website and his Twitter, or right here… you best believe we’ll be right there behind him as he takes over…

In Spit’s time at THLA, Rosewood’s changed quite a bit.  Hopa and Heavy D of the new generation:

KNOCK YOUR BLOCK OFF.

I’ve got nothin’ but respect for Brock and Diamond Supply Co.  We’ve been watching Nick and his team hold it down for years, putting in the work, grinding day in and day out, and it’s all been paying off over the past couple… Brock is in charge of the marketing at Diamond, I’d say he’s doing a pretty bang-up job.

Speaking of diamonds… my hyung Ben Baller (IF) has the illest rocks and he rocks Illest.

This complete’s set up for the homey Ryan Sheckler:

THE HUNDREDS NEW YORK BY JAY HOWELL

The Hundreds New York gets a unique animated video treatment by Jay Howell

SCRATCH.

The Hundreds New York once again sponsored our pool tournament at Soho Billiards in New York City this week. With over 30 entries, it once again came down to our reigning champ and THNY staffer Mone, versus Dave from SSUR.  Lo and behold, Dave steals the crown and goes home victorious.  (What’s up with that Mone?!).  Big thanks to Alex Corporan, Peter Pabon for the photos, and all the homeys who came out for the night.  The Hundreds New York is Huge.

The Hundreds Hawaii Capsule Collection and Launch Party.

The Hundreds introduces the release of the The Hundreds Hawaii capsule collection, sold exclusively at authorized Hawaiian The Hundreds retailers: Blue Hawaii, Prototype, Island Snow, Sindication, One Eighty Boardshop, and EightRocks, on Saturday, May 19, 2012.

The The Hundreds Hawaii capsule collection consists of three Hawaiian themed tees and pays homage to one of Bobby Hundreds’ favorite places in the world.  Each tee features graphics coinciding with what some may consider highlights that the islands have to offer: Leonard’s Bakery, the term “hang loose,” and shave ice.

The three tees within the The Hundreds Hawaii capsule collection are:

Shave Ice:

And to celebrate the release of the tee line, The Hundreds is throwing a party with a special appearance by Bobby Hundreds.  Check out this flyer for more info:

SF STORY.

So over the weekend, we not only held a warehouse sale in San Francisco, but we threw our annual Cinco de Mayo fiesta there as well.  I didn’t get up there to document all the craze thrown, but that’s what I have fellow staffers with Instagram for.  Here are some of The Hundreds crew’s Insta-shots from the weekend in SF, the good, the bad, and the Dorian:
