Back down in Denver, we lunched at the storied Sam’s #3 diner this afternoon, a local gem. The food wasn’t much to write home about, but since the establishment has been here since 1927, you gotta let some things slide.
There are 2 chile rellenos somewhere underneath all that.
Outside H.V. paints, a professional window painter who’s been in the trade since the ’70s. How many windows does he work on a day? “Not as many as I used to!” he laughs. “I’ve been slowing down…” When I ask him if the business itself is crawling, he confirms. Everyone’s gone to vinyl stickers for signage. The irony, of course, that to produce a wrap this big would be more costly than hiring H.V. for 6 hours and keeping handcrafted, personal, unique creations alive.
If you’re in the area and down to keep a good thing goin’, support H.V. by visiting his site HERE.
We then take the afternoon to visit some of our core accounts in the Denver area. First up is Division West, a popular clothing and sneaker boutique specializing in our brand, as well as 10 Deep, Nike, and even local heroes like Askels.
And we also make sure to swing by Family Affair again, the hybrid Streetwear boutique / barber shop.
This time we don’t get to see Jason, but Alex is behind the counter, working on some hand-lettering in the meantime. I dig the Stray Rats tee, of course Alex is friends with Julian.
You can find The Hundreds at Family Affair, alongside our friends at illest, Hall of Fame, and UNDFTD.
