33.

Club 33 at Disneyland.  If you don’t know about it, I can’t explain it to you.

I mean, well, actually, I could. I’m just being lazy tonight and would rather you read up about it HERE on the unofficial website, or the Wikipedia page.  They’ll do a much better job breaking down the myth and legacy of Disneyland’s secret club..

Yes, Club 33 is of the utmost exclusivity, almost impossible to get into.  Even Disneyland employees I talked to on my way being escorted into the park wondered aloud what it was like inside, as they had only heard rumors about it.  ”Is it a 10-year waiting list to get in, or 20?”  ”I hear it costs members $100,000 a year!”  ”Walt Disney hid microphones in the chandeliers so he could listen in on private conversations!!”

Yes, there is alcohol inside, in fact, a fully stocked bar.  One of, if not the, only places at Disneyland to serve liquor.  Macallan 18?  No problem.  Yes, the taxidermy was supposed to be animatronic but Walt lost interest and they are just merely stuffed trophies.  Yes, I’d open doors and find myself suddenly on the second floor balcony of a Pirates of the Caribbean house.  Yes, the lobster macaroni was delicious and yes, I pocketed 1 of everything that was branded Club 33.  Including the bathroom hand towels.

And yes, there really were microphones in the chandeliers.

DOUBLE DARE.

Was paid a visit by these two wretches this afternoon, here in my new office.  That’s Natalia, you already know, and Silke of Shown to Scale.   Hijinks ensued.

THE HUNDREDS SPRING 2013

#

The Hundreds is pleased to announce the release of the The Hundreds Spring 2013 collection, available this Thursday, January 31st, 2013 at The Hundreds’ flagship locations and authorized retailers (THLA, THSF, THNY, and THSM). The collection will also be available through the Online Shop starting Monday, February 4th, 2013.

As an epilogue to our apocalypse-themed Fall and Winter 2012 ranges, this latest collection centers on the stories of rebirth and rejuvenation in a post-apocalyptic landscape.  Nothing better explains that than the new Burnt Camo pack, our unique camouflage print depicting pops of wildflower poking through the ash and soot of the forest decay.  Or the recurring trim of the full rainbow on select pieces, God’s biblical covenant after the storm had passed.  As you’ll see, the colors and material stories are starting to regain vigor, coming back to life after taking a beating the past couple seasons.  From our footwear to the outerwear, headwear to our denim and wovens, this is that new new.  This is the End of the Beginning.  This is The Hundreds Spring 2013.

There will come a time when you believe everything is finished; that will be the beginning. ”

TRIP OUT.

#

Over the years, you’ve seen The Hundreds’ relationship grow with Alexander Spit, from directing music videos to partnering up on album releases.  All of Alex’s successes were entirely his, we’ve just been his cheering section all the way.  There’s a lot of bad rap music out there today, and that leaves room for something really great, different.  Special.  I think that’s my favorite thing about Alex’s music – it’s fresh, it’s experimental, it’s a risk.. It’s entirely his.  And if you can swallow that pill, it’s a fantastically trippy ride.

The Hundreds is pleased to unveil the The Hundreds X Alexander Spit project, consisting of a long-sleeve collaborative T-Shirt to celebrate Alexander Spit’s new album release, “A Breathtaking Trip to that Otherside.”  The shirt and record will be available for purchase at all The Hundreds flagship locations (THLA, THNY, THSF and THSM) on Thursday, January 31st, 2013, as well as the official Alexander Spit website beginning Tuesday, January 29th.

The limited edition The Hundreds X Alexander Spit long-sleeve tee features a freeze-frame from the “A Breathtaking Trip” music video on front; “A BREATHTAKING TRIP” and “TO THAT OTHERSIDE” printed on the right and left sleeves, respectively; and a solid bomb logo at top back. Available exclusively in black.

Coinciding with the joint release, The Hundreds will also be hosting a dedicatory party on Friday, February 1st at the Virgil in Hollywood:

DOGGY STYLE.

#, #

I love New York. But this week, not so much.  Time to get out of the freeze…

This is The Hundreds New York’s unofficial mascot, TERROR.  An olde english bulldogge, not to be confused with the original old english bulldog, not to be confused with just a regular ol’ bulldog.

Speakin’ of freeze, that’s Freeze:

Terror models the latest Phoenixes.

and a The Hundreds New York Store Exclusive™ Team cap:

The dog days of winter…

See ya on the other side.
